Program Description

The construction industry is rapidly evolving, with a focus on mechanization to meet demands for speedy construction without compromising quality. This course covers key aspects of modern construction practices, including formwork, construction equipment, and heavy lifting techniques. Learners will explore basic formwork concepts, assembly sequences, and design principles, along with safety considerations. Additionally, the course addresses construction equipment operations, safety protocols, and innovative methods for handling complex structures. Practical knowledge on heavy lifting processes and lift plan development is also provided. Through real-world examples and case studies, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of industry challenges and solutions.

Course Objectives:

  • Selection of the appropriate formwork system, safer construction aspects including assembling and dismantling to prevent formwork failures
  • Design of the formwork system, computation of the bill of quantity for the formwork system
  • Appropriate selection of construction equipment
  • Application of engineering concepts in heavy lifting and strategies
