Program Description

The Basics of Pile Foundation course covers essential modules: Introduction, Site Investigation and Geotechnical Report Writing, Introduction to Pile Foundation, Construction of Bored Cast In-Situ Piles, Construction of Driven Cast In-Situ Piles, and Construction of Precast Driven Piles. Participants learn site assessment techniques, geotechnical report creation, and various pile foundation methods including bored cast in-situ, driven cast in-situ, and precast driven piles. Emphasis is placed on practical construction techniques, safety considerations, and understanding the underlying principles of each method. The course equips learners with foundational knowledge essential for effective pile foundation design and implementation.

Course Objectives

  • The course aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of site investigation and geotechnical report writing, covering topics such as the stages of investigation, methods of exploration, and interpretation of geotechnical parameters.
  • Learners will be able to analyze geotechnical reports, interpret soil classifications, and select foundations based on soil profiles, preparing it for effective decision-making in foundation design.
  • Additionally, the course introduces the principles of pile foundation design, construction techniques for bored cast in-situ piles, driven cast in-situ piles, and precast driven piles, ensuring students acquire practical knowledge for successful construction projects.
