Professor R. P. Sundarraj has over four decades of international academic experience at various leading universities in USA, Canada, Qatar and India, and is currently a professor of information systems at IIT Madras. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the University of Madras in 1982 and a PhD in Management Science in 1990.
He has lectured widely in both academic and industry circles, and is recognised as a leading scholar in applying behavioral, economic, optimization or machine-learning models to areas such as healthcare, innovation, digital platforms, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.
Professor Sundarraj is an author of several books on these topics and has published over 100 papers in conferences and journals of international repute. He has been the doctoral guide of many students who now hold senior positions in academia and industry.
Of particular interest to the CTAIO programmes is Professor Sundarraj’s leading role in conceptualising, architecting and implementing different executive programs at IIT Madras, providing impactful learning to industry professionals.

Dr. Sathya Venkatraman is a recognised leader in digital transformation, with more than three decades of extensive consulting experience across industries. He currently serves as Director and Principal Consultant for Data & AI Advisory at Kyndryl Solutions, after holding senior roles including Chief Technology Officer at IBM Global Technology Services.
His key expertise spans digital transformation, IT strategy, healthcare, banking, and design thinking, backed by a strong academic foundation with an M.S. from BITS Pilani and a Ph.D. from IIT Madras.
As a Visiting Professor at IIT Madras, XLRI, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow and several other reputable universities, Dr. Sathya actively mentors future technology leaders. He is on the corporate advisory board of XLRI and also serves as a Honorary Advisor with India Blockchain Alliance (IBA), a non-profit organizations promoting blockchain adoption in the country.
Dr. Sathya has published several research papers in leading journals and conferences, further demonstrating his thought leadership in the field. Importantly, his hands-on experience as a CTO adds unique depth and relevance to the Future CTAIO, giving participants practical insights into technology leadership at scale.
